The woodchopping section of the Annual Dubbo Show stands as one of the largest events outside the Sydney Royal Easter Show. Over one and a half days, enthusiasts engage in nearly continuous cutting across a variety of disciplines including underhand, standing block, tree-felling, double handed sawing, and chainsaw events.

Highlighted competitions include the prestigious Golden Axe for underhand chopping and the Silver Saws for double handed sawing. With attractive prize money, participants compete for trophies and ribbons in all major events.
