TREASURER POSITION
The job of Treasurer involves working closely with the Executive and Secretary of the Show Society with regards to the day to day management of the Society Cash flow and associated Financial duties required by a large not for profit organisation such as the Dubbo Show Society.
My involvement with the Show Movement started at the age of 18 when I joined the Royal Bathurst Show becoming Ringmaster for 7 years and then Vice President. My involvement with the Dubbo Show Society started in 1993 when I was asked to organise the Rodeo and Bullride at the Show which then grew to include the Central West Bullride Series that included rounds at the Bathurst, Orange and Dubbo Shows. This involvement developed into becoming an employee of the Dubbo Show Society for 4 years and then onto becoming the Hon Treasurer in 2008.
I continue to be involved for a number of reasons, mainly being the opportunity to work towards bringing top quality entertainment to Dubbo, as well providing common ground for all to compete and interact. Over the last 31 years and I have been fortunate enough to have met many amazing, generous and knowledgeable people through the show movement.
My involvement with the Dubbo Show Society is rewarding in so many ways, most of all the fellowship of like minded people with the goal of running a show for the community of Dubbo.
